Uncompromising Safety and Peace of Mind: Built to the Highest International Standards

The first topic to be addressed is also the most important-Guest and Crew Safety. Our American yacht builder insisted on importing all components to build Sequoia from Miami, Florida. Five separate 40 foot containers where filled with hull fasteners, engines, anchor system, fuel tanks and hoses, electrical generation, electrical cable, toilets, showers, mattresses, speedboats, Starlink, navigation gear and much more specifically built for harsh marine applications. Only the wood and labor were sourced in Indonesia. Furthermore, United States Coast Guard standards where utilized to guide construction and operation of Sequoia. This high quality construction and operational standard differentiates Sequoia from all other wooden yachts in South East Asia.

Raja Ampat: Where Myth, Heritage, and Nature Shape the Islands of the Four Kings

Myth-enshrined ancestors form the basis of Papua’s modern social structure. “Raja” means King, while “Ampat” means four. According to the legend, eggs laid by the mega bird of Waigeo hatched into four fabled kings who settled the region’s four biggest islands, from north to south; Waigeo, Salawati, Batanta and Misool. These four kings fathered Raja Ampat’s original people, the Maya. A stone egg enshrined in a Mayalibit Bay lends a sliver oftruth to this myth.

Komodo: Where Legends of Dragons and Humans Live in Harmony Across a Natural Wonder

The Komodo Archipelago, part of the Lesser Sunda Islands, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a Man and Biosphere Reserve, and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. According to legend, a fairy named Putri Naga, “The Dragon Princess,” lived on Komodo Island and gave birth to twins: a human named Gerong and a dragon named Orah. One day, while hunting, Gerong encountered Orah trying to take his prey. As he prepared to defend himself, Putri Naga appeared, revealing that Orah was his twin and urging them to live in harmony. To this day, Komodo Islanders believe the dragons are their family, sharing the land as equals.
